More information
Once upon a time Haggerston castle was a large country estate, now it is a
lovely holiday park set in wonderful woodland with elegant Italian gardens and
a boating lake. The castle tower still stands and now features a rooftop bar!
This park is the perfect retreat and holiday for all the family with
landscaped walkways, 9-hole golf course and heated indoor swimming pool.
The park recently underwent a multi-million-pound development of their
garden atrium style complex which now houses an indoor soft play, amusement
centre, the Live lounge, restaurant and new VR dungeon!
Activities on offer at Haggerston include: Segway’s, archery, aerial
adventure course (not currently available) Â and Nature rockz area with ranger led
activities. There is also horse riding and birds of prey centre on site too.
There is a mini market, laundrette and takeaways on site and supermarkets a
short drive away in Berwick.
Local Amenities and the local area
Haggerston castle lies just a few minutes away from Spittal beach,
Cocklawburn beach and many more. The sandy beaches of the Northumberland coast
are a very popular place for families and a good place for spotting seals and
dolphins!
Haggerston Castle is close to an array of castles; Alnwick castle, which is
the largest inhabited castle in the Europe and is of course most famous for
being a location used in the Harry Potter movies. They have lots of activities
on throughout the year, as well as having, on the same site, the award-winning
visitor attraction, Alnwick Gardens. With its beautiful 12 acres of magnificent
gardens, tree house restaurant and stunning water features that children can
play in, Alnwick Castle and Gardens is a fantastic day out.
Bamburgh castle, loved locally for its amazing history and beautiful views
across the coast, as well as the famously haunted Chillingham castle are all
close by and well worth a visit.
Holy island is just 6 miles away and accessed by a causeway is a hugely
popular place to visit.
The Farne islands are beautiful and home to thousands of sea birds and
puffins. Sightseeing boats to the islands leave from Seahouses harbour
regularly.
Like all caravans, due to fire safety regulations the windows do not lock
with a key. The front door uses a key lock from the outside and a turn button
lock from the inside. The french doors use a turn button lock from the inside
and can only be locked/unlocked from the inside. The windows double as a means
of escape route so we are unable to add restrictors to doors or windows.
Haggerston Castle holiday park has lots of lakes of varying sizes on the
grounds. This caravan is sited on Peninsula Lawn which sits close to the
main lake lakes in that area.
Berwick is a 15 minute drive away from the caravan site where you will find
all the shops and amenities you need, including.
Asda – you can get shopping delivered directly to the caravan.
Tweedbank retail park houses an Argos, Farmfoods, Marks and Spencer food
hall, Halfords, Homebase and Poundland.
The swan centre is a local leisure centre with swimming pool and gym.
Berwick also has many restaurants and take away shops.
Christmas and New Year
Haven parks close for holiday makers on the first week of November, however.
as private owners we are still able to welcome guests to our caravan. The park
is a lovely quiet place in the closed season and many owners decide to spend
this time at their vans enjoying the season together as a family. We can now
offer you the chance to spend Christmas and New Year on park too! The onsite
facilities are limited with the shop and some take aways remaining open for
November, all facilities including the shop will close in December however Asda
and Morrisons deliver direct to the caravan, and there are shops and
restaurants’ close by the caravan park, as well as in Berwick itself. The price
for these breaks are:
Short breaks (3 or 4 nights) ÂŁ150 and 7 nights ÂŁ350
Party packages
Celebrating a birthday or anniversary? Add one of our Party packages on to
your booking and choose from a range of foods and entertainment! We have teamed
up with the fantastic Dreams on Moonbeams to bring you character visits direct
to the caravan! There are so many characters and packages to choose from so
please get in touch for more information. The cast of Dreams on Moonbeams all
have lots of experience in working with adults and children with autism and
additional needs and can create bespoke package just for you.
Things you may need to
know
Peninsula Lawn is not part of our Sensory Caravan range, however, there is a
Spectrum Pack available to use throughout your stay. As with all caravans, the
windows and doors also act as a means of escape in an emergency situation and
therefore window restrictors or key locks are not able to be fitted, the doors
lock with thumb turners from inside and the front door locks from the outside
with a key. The park is a Haven site and can get busy and noisy in all areas of
the park and we cannot guarantee the behaviour of the other guests around you.
Haggerston castle has a land train which is used by all guests to navigate the
park. There are stops located around the park and 1 is approx 30 yards from our
caravans. The train may come past the caravans a few times a day but is not
very loud. Security vans drive by regularly and will sometimes carry gas bottle
refills which can clank when going over speed bumps. The park bins get emptied
every day in peak season, and large Biffa lorries will drive past the caravans
each morning. The caravan is close to the Main Lake.
