Tattersall Lakes Country Park

Our recent property visit took us to Lincolnshire and the beautiful Tattershall Lakes Country Park!

Our property visits usually take place in winter, this is because our Sensory caravans close for the colder months, and we have more availability to travel. This tends to mean that while we get to visit some amazing places, we usually end up doing so in the rain, or like yesterday, the fog! Despite the weather we really enjoyed our visit to Tattershall and the fog didn’t stop us from seeing what a beautiful place the park is, or from walking around the guest and the outdoor areas.

When we arrived, we were met by a member of staff at the security barrier who helped us with directions to the first caravan we were visiting which was on Swan View. Swan View is located on the far side of the park in a quiet area and as we are now in the low season it was really peaceful on park when we arrived. The caravan is a spacious 3 bed van with French doors leading to an enclosed veranda. There is also large side decking which houses outdoor furniture and a sunken hot tub!

We then moved to the second of the 2 caravans which is located on The Fairway which is close to Ospray lake on a large corner pitch. The caravan is a large, open plan, 3 bed van and has large side decking which again has outdoor furniture and a fantastic sunken hot tub! As the caravan is close to the lake, we were welcomed by flocks of ducks that had come to say hi!

See the map park here.

After we had looked at the caravans we also wanted to look around the guest areas and experience the entertainment and hospitality venues. We started with a trip to the on site shop which stocks every day essentials as well as some small gifts, toys, and souvenirs. We called in to guest services to pick up our guest passes which would allow us to access the main visitor area. The staff were all really friendly and helpful and provided a paper map of the park as well as our passes.

Next door to the shop you will find “The Merlin” which is where you will find the entertainment and restaurant facilities. At the entrance a member of staff will ask to see your passes. Passes are required to access all areas on Park apart from the shop and the chip shop) Once through the pass check, you will see lots of arcades and games including the penny push machines and the claw machines you would expect to find on a holiday park. As you walk through you will find the entrance to the swimming pool and the swimming reception area.

You will also see steps that lead up to “The Propellor Bar and Kitchen” which is a table service restaurant. A little further through the arcades you will find a door leading to “The Spitfire Bar” which is a traditional holiday club house style area which serves family friendly food as well as housing the main stage which provides children’s, and evening entertainment. Upstairs you will find ‘The Giggling Goose” which is an adults only Gin Bar.

You can see all seasonal opening times for all venues here

There are doors leading out from Propellor to an amazing outdoor play and entertainment area on the edge of the main ‘Water Ski Lake”! There are 2 man-made beach areas which are open from February half term through to October half term. There is a huge outdoor cinema area with seating, a large play park, a small ice cream stand, and a fantastic model Spitfire!

You can also access Bar 49 from the outdoor area which is a rooftop cocktail bar which is family friendly. Just outside if the resort you will also find Tattershall Park Pub and Kitchen which offers a contemporary restaurant with themed areas such as “The Library” and “The Mysterious Ladies Hat Room” There is a lovey beer garden and a children’s menu is also available.

We also found the amazing new Spiegeltent which offers themed activities, stage shows and winter fest! See more information and images here

The whole park is very pet friendly, and the venues are mostly all pet friendly too. There are some areas that dogs cannot enter, and all indoor areas are marked with either red or green dog signs (green for dog friendly, and red for places that dogs are not welcome) Both caravans are also pet friendly.

There are lots of water sport-based activities on offer at Tattershall Lakes including a splash pad, lido and aqua play zone on the park, as well as high ropes, gym, zip line, cycle hire, pedalo hire and much more. See all activities here.

The owners, Rachael and Matt, are so open and welcoming, they have lived experience of Autism and understand the challenges that parents of children with additional needs can face when thinking of going on holiday and we are so happy to welcome them both as our new Spectrum Partners!
