Foxes cottage sits on the edge of the picturesque Royal Forest of Dean. The kitchen and sitting room are an open plan layout making the area light and spacious.
The kitchen is fully equipped with a full-size electric oven and gas hob, microwave and fridge with icebox. In the lounge area there is a comfortable 3-piece suite to relax on while unwinding after a day spent exploring the beautiful local area. A TV with Freeview and a selection of books and games.
Upstairs you will find 2 large bedrooms and family bathroom. The double and twin bedrooms both have room for a travel cot should you need to bring one with you.
The cottage benefits from its quiet location set back from roads and traffic.

First Floor: One Double bedroom; Second bedroom with full size twin beds.
The windows in Foxes Cottage are standard latches on the inside and can be fitted with restrictors if they are required. The front door on Foxes Cottage is not lockable from the inside due to fire safety regulations.
There is a laundry room close by with a washing machine and tumble dryer which is free to use and an enclosed children’s play field complete with wooden play house and trains.
This is a Dog-Free cottage.
Local Amenities
The village of Yorkley is easy walking distance from The Cottage being only half a mile away. In Yorkley Village there are 2 general stores, one of which also houses the Post Office, 2 village pubs, a hairdresser, Health Centre and Community Centre.
The Forest of Dean, Gloucestershire! A fantastic natural playground set in beautiful surroundings, whatever the season – walk through the bluebells in Spring, appreciate the dappled shade in Summer, marvel at the autumn colours, track the deer prints in a winter wonderland.
If you are after full-on-action, a stroll or ride; sun or snow or even a relaxing week with the family and family pet, there’s something to suit everyone in the ancient Forest of Dean., and it is right on our doorstep! Footpaths lead from the grounds of Deanwood Holiday Cottages straight into the Forest of Dean.
Easy Access. There are routes at Mallards Pike Lake and the Cyril Hart Arboretum in the Forest of Dean which are suitable for those in wheelchairs or with pushchairs. Symonds Yat Rock is also accessible from the carpark. The ‘Twelve Easy Walks’ leaflet gives details of circular manageable strolls in the Forest of Dean.
Cycles can be hired from Dean Forest Cycles at Parkend, only 3 miles away.
Alternatively, bring you own bikes. There are secure, undercover bike storage on site and also drying facilities and hanging space in the laundry for wet clothing.
Dean Heritage Centre is 6 miles from the cottage. There you will find 5 Galleries, Victorian cottage, cryptic trails, chainsaw carving, animals, playground and much more.
Dean Forest Railway is close by and runs from Lydney to Parkend. They run Special Thomas the Tank engine days and as well as days for the railway enthusiast. Enjoy Sunday lunch in the First-Class Royal forester dining train.
Dick Whittington Farm Park, Longhope, is 13 miles from the Cottage and received National Farm Park Winners Award for 2007. Specially aimed at toddlers to 10-year olds there is a. Giant indoor play barn, reptile & pets’ room and outdoor pedal course.
Nelson Museum, Monmouth. Contains one of the world’s prime collections of material about the famous admiral. Also includes a collection about Charles Rolls, co-founder of Rolls Royce and information about local history.
Perrygrove Railway, with no extra charge for extra rides why not buy a ticket and see the local area in comfort. with houses in the trees, an indoor village with secret passages, indoor play area, den building in the woods, indoor and outdoor picnic areas it’s the perfect place for families. All just 6 miles from the cottage,
Symonds Yat Leisure Park is 14 miles from the cottage. Here you will find the Wye Valley Butterfly Zoo, an aMazing Hedge maze, crazy golf, Laser Tag and a garden centre – enough to keep you amused all day!
Goodrich Castle is a National Trust property dramatically set on a rocky outcrop with exhilarating views over the Wye Valley. Goodrich offers a fascinating insight into medieval castle life. Just 12 miles from the Cottage.
Puzzlewood Enjoy a magical day out at Puzzlewood, a popular TV and film location, visited by Dr Who and Merlin. With Magical woods, willow maze and indoor maze, animals and playground it’s a fun day out for all. Just 5 miles from the cottage.

We understand that preparing an autistic person for a holiday can be challenging. At spectrum holidays we are always looking for ways to make this process easier for our families. We have visited each of the holiday homes personally and have put together a social story for each one. Just let us know how we can best support you in your holiday preparation and we will create personalised visual countdown calendar or timetable for you!
Inside the holiday homes you will find a set of visuals to help support you while on holiday, there is also a “now, next, later” travel keyring to take out and about with you as well as some information about the local area.
We work closely with all of our holiday home owners so there will always be someone available to help should you have any problems during your holiday.
